Phillies Minor Leaguer's are into their exhibition schedule.  Please keep in mind that players shift around a lot during the spring and the team a particular player is playing with on these reports is not a concrete indication where he might start the season.

J.C. Romero and Tom Gordon both came down from big league camp and each threw one inning of one hit ball, Romero struck out one batter. Kip Bouknight also looked good on the mound, surrendering no runs and just two hits with two strikeouts over three innings. Offense was no problem as Val Pascucci, T.J. Bohn, and Gookie Dawkins all homered and drove in two runs. Michael Durant recorded an RBI double and Tim Gradoville went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Eric Bruntlett also came in from big-league camp, going 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Kyle Kendrick made his way in from big league camp and got the start, giving up three runs (two earned) and four hits over four innings with two walks and two strikeouts. Charles Merricks threw two innings of shutout ball, giving up one hit with a walk and one strikeout. On offense, Pete LaForest was in from big league camp and drove in a run on an RBI double in a 1-for-4 effort, he also scored a run. Jason Donald doubled home a run and Jeremy Slayden and Branden Florence each doubled and scored a run. Eric Bruntlett showed up in his second minor league game of the day, going 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Edgar Garcia turned in a strong performance on the mound, giving up just one run over three innings while striking out five. Walter Tejeda came on strong in the 8th inning by striking out all three batters he faced. Matthew Spencer as the star on offense going 1-for-2 with a two run homer. Quinten Berry and Matthew Rizzotti each drove in a run, and Gus Milner went a perfect 2-for-2 with a run scored.

Tyson Brummett was strong in relief, tossing three innings of shutout ball while striking out two. Freddy Galvis and Caleb Mangum each knocked in a run while Andino Villegas (one run scored) and Dennis Winn each went 2-for-2
