Phillies Minor Leaguer's are into their exhibition schedule.  Please keep in mind that players shift around a lot during the spring and the team a particular player is playing with on these reports is not a concrete indication where he might start the season.

Pitching was the key to the IronPigs victory as four pitchers combined to pitch a four hit shutout. Brian Mazone led the way on the mound, tossing three innings of no-hit ball while recording two strikeouts. Ron Chiavacci and Zack Segovia each pitched two shutout innings and R.J. Swindle tossed a perfect nine pitch ninth inning. On offense, Mike Cerevanak went a perfect 3-for-3 with a homerun, a double, two RBI and a run scored. Val Pascucci also chipped in with a solo homerun. John Suomi and Neil Sellers both doubled. Javon Moran and Andy Tracy recorded an RBI apiece.

Drew Carpenter threw three shutout innings, giving up three hits and recording a strikeout. Brad Harman was the star on offense, going 2-for-2 with a homerun, four RBI and two runs scored. Jeremy Slayden and Zachary Penprase (3 hits) each doubled and knocked in a run and Jake Blalock doubled and scored a run. Branden Florence finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and J.J. Trujillo tossed two innings of one run ball while striking out three.

Kris Benson made the trek down from major league camp and got in five innings of work while giving up two runs on five hits and striking out four. Sam Walls pitched one and two-thirds scoreless innings in relief, giving up two hits and striking out two. Jay Miller and Jesus Sanchez each knocked in a run. Travis D'Arnaud, Dominic Brown and Derek Mitchell each chipped in with a double apiece.

Cole Hamels came down from big league camp and looked strong, surrendering just one run on two hits over five innings of work, he struck out six batters. Dennis Winn provided most of the offense, picking up a two RBI double and a run in a 1-for-4 effort. Jermaine Williams and Freddy Galvis both doubled and scored a run.
