School Pride program showcases area youth
Reading, PA – Thanks to Pepsi, the Reading Phillies are inviting area schools to share their school pride with the FirstEnergy Stadium crowd at select 2008 home games. There is no cost to schools, students or teachers to take part in the program.
All participating schools will receive: a free ticket for all students and teachers; a special welcome to the game via the stadium video board; R-Phils game cap for every student; the opportunity to have a parade around warning track; the opportunity to select a school representative to throw out a first pitch; the chance to honor accomplishments of a team, club or other school group in a pre-game ceremony; an invitation for the school mascot to perform on the field; the opportunity to have a chorus, cheerleading squad, dance team or band perform on field; the chance to promote school events at a table in the right field food court.
"It's an effort to supplement everything the schools are doing by offering the students and their families a fun night out at the ballpark,” R-Phils General Manager Scott Hunsicker said of the program. “By involving the school choirs, bands, teams, and other clubs, it's a chance to show off everything the schools have to offer to the entire community".
School Pride games are available in April and May.
Schools can get involved in the program by contacting Adam Lanzendorfer at 610-375-8469 x 227 or
