R-Phils to host IronPigs in charity exhibition thanks to Capital BlueCross

Reading, PA – The top two farm teams for the World Champion Philadelphia Phillies will play each other in a pre-season exhibition game at Reading’s FirstEnergy Stadium on Tuesday, April 7 at 6:35 PM. The Double-A Reading Phillies will play the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs, to benefit Baseballtown Charities, just like they did in 2008. The region’s leading health insurer, Capital BlueCross, is again the presenting sponsor. The IronPigs topped the R-Phils, 6-2 in last year’s fundraiser.

Thanks to Capital BlueCross, all proceeds from the game’s ticket sales will benefit the Reading Phillies Baseballtown Charities, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping more children, who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity, play baseball.
