R-Phils to start dance team, schedule open audition

Reading, PA – The Reading Phillies will form a dance team for the 2008 season that will be an integral part of the R-Phils entertainment package. 

The selection process for this team of professional dancers will begin at an open audition to be held on Sunday, January 27 at the Academy of Movement from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Registration begins at 8:30 AM. Applications, available here, must be filled out. 

The Academy of Movement is located off of Rt. 183 at:

Reading, PA 19605 

The R-Phils dance team will be under the direction of former Philadelphia 76ers dancer Jennifer Caputo-Pietrobone and former Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleader Heather Gidusko. 

“We have worked with Jenny and Heather for several years on the Diamond Diva youth dance team, the kids loved it, the fans loved it,” said R-Phils General Manager Scott Hunsicker. “Now it is time to utilize Jenny & Heather's expertise to further enhance the excitement at a Reading Phillies game. Every Friday and Saturday night, the Reading Phillies Dance Team will add to what is already a tremendous line-up of nightly R-Phils entertainment.”

Auditions will start promptly at 9:00 AM, please arrive 30 minutes before audition time to register.

NO OBSERVERS ARE PERMITTED at the audition or in the lobby area. 
You will learn choreography at the Sunday, January 27 audition.

Finalists must be available for:
• Rehearsal on February 3rd from 9-1 
• Must be available for interview on Feb. 3rd from 1-4
• Must be available for Final Audition, to be held on Sunday, February 10 at 3:00 PM 

Requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age by Feb 1, 2008 and a high school graduate 
• Must submit two photos (head shot and full body shot)-along with application. PHOTOS WILL NOT BE RETURNED (photos do not need to be professional)

Attire 
• Crop top or sports bra (any style, any color) 
• Bike Shorts, Hot Pants or Briefs (any style, any color, any length)-NO LONG PANTS! 
• Nude hose or bare legs 
• Sneakers 
• Hair and make-up must be performance ready

Judging
All the judging will concentrate on: 
• Dance Technique and style 
• Showmanship, personality, and energy 
• Physical and personal appearance

If selected 
• Must have means of transportation. 
• Must attend all rehearsals (typically scheduled on Sunday mornings/afternoon) 
• Must attend all home games you are scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings April-Sept
• Must attend selected appearances throughout the season
