Reading plated two more in the fifth on Hill's RBI grounder and Tejeda's run-scoring single to go up 5-0.

June 27: Harrisburg 4, Reading 1 (Game 2)

Allen Davis
5 Up, 5 Down

Harrisburg, PA --Seth Bynum's leadoff homer in the fifth inning snapped a 1-1 tie and led the Harrisburg Senators to a 4-1 Eastern League win over the Reading Phillies and a split of a doubleheader at Commerce Bank Park Wednesday night.

Bynum has hit four of his five homers this year against the Phillies.

Reading (38-40) had the bases loaded and one out in both the second and third innings but could score just one run on Juan Tejeda's fielder's choice grounder in the third.

The Senators (29-50) tied the game in third on a Josh Whitesell sacrifice fly.

Bynum connected off Chris Rojas (2-2) to start the fifth and the Senators added two more in the sixth without a hit. J.J. Trujillo walked three and hit a batter in the inning.

The Phillies loaded the bases in the seventh but Mike Costanzo grounded sharply to short to end the game.

Michael Spidale had two of Reading's eight hits. Jason Hill and Michael Garciaparra each extended hitting streaks to nine games, but Joey Hammond saw his 7-game hit streak come to an end. Phillies reliever Allen Davis retired all five batters he faced.

June 27: Reading 10, Harrisburg 4 (Game 1)

Patrick Overholt
1st Double-A Win

Harrisburg, PA --The Reading Phillies again used a big inning to down the Harrisburg Senators. It was a six-run sixth inning Wednesday night at Commerce Bank Park that led the Phillies to a 10-4 victory in game one of an Eastern League doubleheader.

The teams traded the lead throughout the game before the Phillies (38-39) took control in the sixth, scoring the six runs on four hits, two walks and two errors. The Senators (28-50) twice failed to get an out on sacrifice bunts and the R-Phils took advantage of the miscues. Michael Spidale's two-run pinch-hit single snapped a 4-4 tie. Chris Coste also had a two-run single in the inning as Reading sent 11 men to the plate.

Harrisburg, PA --Carlos Carrasco settled down after a rough beginning and he ignited a big rally with a walk in the Reading Phillies' 6-2 Eastern League win over the Harrisburg Senators Tuesday night at Commerce Bank Park.
